“Music is what I live and breathe. For me, if there were no music there would be no life.” Tracy Blackman
Once honored as one of San Francisco’s top ten unsigned artists, Tracy Blackman is a force to be reckoned with. The singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer is about to release her eagerly awaited second CD entitled, “It Is What It Is” a passionate collection of funky, bluesy pop/rock. Blackman’s debut CD “Come Take My Hand” has ten simmering tracks that are a delicious blend of folk, rock and blues spiced with funky, soulful flavor. Tracy has had the honor of working with her sister, Cindy Blackman, jazz drummer and the powerhouse backbeat behind Lenny Kravitz, on both of these releases.
An engaging performer, she never fails to amaze audiences with her dynamic range. Tracy’s style is said to be reminiscent of Rickie Lee Jones and Sheryl Crow. Listeners are easily drawn in when they hear Tracy sing. She has wide ranging vocals that soothe like rain, with deep, thought provoking lyrics that pull the listener into the well of her emotion. Drawing from a variety of influences, she commands your attention with every song.
